Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

I have said this before:  This will be the year that Ole Miss (or Ole Most) turns the corner.  Fuck, they have the best facilities in the SEC.  Coach O is  the most underrated Coach in the league as well.  Anyways, Ole Miss will meet the University of Kentucky in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.  After destroying Kentucky, Ole Miss will battle the Big East Conference Champion for the National Championship! Mark it down!

Here is the sane and rational thinking (HT BamaPerry):

Either UT or USC from the East. UGA has way too many questions on defense and UF has way too many questions all over the board.  USC’s schedule could either help or hurt them, and both UT and SC have questions at Wide Receiver, but thats about all the questions they have. Whichever team can answer that million dollar question will probably come out on top of the East.

In the West its up to LSU or Auburn, with Bama being the dark horse. Sure, Arkansas will have something to say about it, but I think too many Arky fans are quick to forget what the Hawg offense looked like before Mahlzahn stepped onto campus. Houston Dale Nutt alone costs his team a few games in the ’05 season…and I expect to see more of the same this coming season.

But anyways…back to the contenders in the West. Auburn obviously has the coaching edge while LSU definitely has the players edge. That matchup will certainly have a direct impact on who is champion from the West…and Bama may be the wildcard in that division. After losing 5 (one for the thumb) to the Barn, revenge will certainly be on the minds of the Bama nation…and taking out his former team in LSU will be atop the mind of Nick Saban. This will be an interesting year in the West but at this point I would have to say that LSU will take the crown…..but LSU still has Les Miles. He’s a big question mark himself. .

One response to “Who Meets in Atlanta? The SEC is clearly superior”

  1. Yeah, so Les went 22-4 in his first two seasons, and people always use the Coker argument, but he has one of the top defensive coordinators in the country, and the new offensive coordinator should be able to utilize the talent better than Jimbo “run it up the gut & bubble screen” Fisher. We’ll see if he is still a question mark at the end of the season – a lot of people shit on him for taking over Saban’s talent, but what the fuck was he supposed to do, lose? His recruiting classes have been pretty good so far as well.

I’d love to see what Saban would have done with LSU over the last two seasons, would his nazi tactics work on the team right after Katrina hit? Saban’s a great coach, but it’s not like he was perfect at LSU. Man he laid some eggs.
