For the Gators that claim that the punch did not happen or it was self-defense, go to the 30 second mark on the video. Now look at the diagonal line, jackasses. Right after the camera angle changes to the zoomed out version of the whole court (left side of the picture), a white guy in a North Face runs into Powell who then sucker punches him in the back of the head. The kid then stumbles two or three steps and hits the ground under a pile of people. It is only after that, that the fat kid in the yellow shirt pushes Powell.

As more evidence rolls in, Florida fans continue to dispute or justify the thuggish behavior of the Gator Athlete (s). Here is a screencap on the 30 second mark. Notice the arm cocked? About to deliver the blow on the unsuspecting Vandy Fan? Oh yeah Gators, he asked for it, he deserved it. Nice job gators, you represent the SEC so well…

A popular Florida Website runs a weekly “Fulmer Cup” that tracks athletes misbehavior. I think we make a strong case in renaming the Fulmer Cup to Meyer’s Bong Pipe. Take a look at this video of the latest Florida Athlete to do one more stupid thing. Spin it Gators, Spin it.

    I don’t know about the socks part, but you sure did hit the nail on the head with “loser.” Where the hell do you see anyone taking a swing at a Vandy student? All I see is a player getting pushed in the back by a student who shouldn’t be on the court in the first place. It’s easy to hate the Gators for dominating both major collegiate sports, but you really should be above making sh!t up just to suit your agenda. As for the “swat” at the UK cheerleader, he swung at the pompom that she decided to put squarely in his face as he was lying on the ground. At no point was she in jeopardy, and if you had even a smidgen of intellectual honesty, you’d admit that she initiated the exchange and is at fault.

The SEC has already said it was self defense and Brandon won’t get any suspension from the league. Vandy, though, gets to pay $25,000 for the storming of the court.

    BTW, isn’t Tennessee the institution who let a kid play football when he went to a diploma mill “school?” 13 arrests in a two year span? Football players literally knocking out students after pickup basketball games because they felt there was a cheap foul?

    Your analysis could be executed on just about any team in Div 1 football with a similar outcome. Look at South Carolina, Tennessee, FSU, and on and on and on. It is not what the players do but how the program deals with the inevitable issues that arise when a large number of 18-23 year old males(not the most intelligent group on the planet, even at Vanderbilt) are involved.

    I mean, really, who can blame a kid for throwing a punch in response to a vigorous push from behind. The crowd should not have been on the floor.

    Please take the time to follow every program-for”misdeeds and crimes”- and you can tally up the scores at the end. It will be hard to pick a winner/loser.

    Urban Meyer is exactly who he claims to be. He is a very religious and virtuous man who runs the cleanest program possible. He explicitly promised when leaving Utah to direct an honorable program shaped in the Lord’s image, and he has done so. He is a very good, humble person who is a leader of fine young men.     For the Gators that claim that the punch did not happen or it was self-defense, go to the 30 second mark on the video. Now look at the diagonal line, jackasses. Right after the camera angle changes to the zoomed out version of the whole court (left side of the picture), a white guy in a North Face runs into Powell who then sucker punches him in the back of the head. The kid then stumbles two or three steps and hits the ground under a pile of people. It is only after that, that the fat kid in the yellow shirt pushes Powell.

    As more evidence rolls in, Florida fans continue to dispute or justify the thuggish behavior of the Gator Athlete (s). Here is a screencap on the 30 second mark. Notice the arm cocked? About to deliver the blow on the unsuspecting Vandy Fan?

    That being said please explan all this vitriol for the Florida program, because I fail to understand why the Gators should be thrown under the bus for a backup guard who may or may not have thrown a punch.

    AK47/AR15 Assault Rifles incident. Nothing illegal about firearms possession except to the politically correct. One guy accidentally discharged on and nobody was hurt. It’s a less significant incident than the 800,000 times that college kids drive drunk and get away with it, but use the words “Assault Rifles” in the title and it sounds terrible to somebody who doesn’t know the facts.

    The Marcus Thomas Dope Urinalysis Issues. Yes, he tested positive, was suspended, and ultimately kicked off the team for violating the terms of his probation. Meyer imposed more discipline over a single incident of pot smoking than any coach in the history of collegiate sports, against arguably the most important player on the time. So how does that reflect badly on the program?

    Is he playing or not playing. Coach Meyer is brilliant!!!Nobody knows who is playing or suspended!!! As has been reported endlessly and is known by all who care to learn the truth instead of finding a convenient talking point to support an agenda, the term of Thomas’s suspension had to do with the university’s internal disciplinary process. Unlike other schools, Florida has a disciplinary panel independent of the coaches. So that’s a credit, not a knock on the university.

    Jarvis Moss Dope Issues. Yes, he was suspended a year ago for smoking marijuana. We have a drug enforcement program with teeth. Accused felons serve lesser suspensions at other schools in the area.

    Chris Rainey Recruiting Comments about money and merchandise. Who did he sign with??? He told a newspaper reporter that he had received cash from a fan of the Lakeland high school team. He has no family to take care of him and lives with the family of the two twin offensive linemen who are also going to UF. Not an NCAA rules violation, and not even immoral in my view, given the circumstances.
    LSU has Trouble Qualifying Recruits Comments by the Gator Staff. LSU does have trouble qualifying recruits, as do other schools in the SEC. Florida is superior academically, and we tell the recruits so during the recruiting process. Where’s the crime?

    Meyer suddenly realizes that speaking at a banquet is a NCAA Violation only after flying there and is “5 minutes outâ€. How is this even an incident? He learned of the rule and obeyed it.

    Noah the Tranny swats at a cheerleader and gets into a confrontation with the Vandy Coach. He swatted at the pom-pom that the cheerleader thrust in his face, amidst the “Noah sucks dick” chants that were raining down from the classy Wildcat fans. The Vandy coach was the one who struck him and swore him as he was trying to grab the ball to in-bounds it. So again, how are these “incidents”?

    Now Brandon Powell appears to sucker punch a Vandy Student. Follow the white line on the video. Yes, he punched the wrong guy, after being shoved rudely by a Vandy fan. It was wrong. But the idiot fan had it coming and gets zero sympathy from me. Incidentally, he is being disciplined internally by Donovan, while the SEC’s only move was to fine Vandy $25,000 for rushing the court. So once again, our disciplinary system exceeds the norm.

    Damn, I almost forgot about the two Linebackers just kicked off the team for Ganja related infractions. Those guys must have sucked or old “1,2 Urban is coming for you†would have found a way to cover their ass and keep them on the team. On the plus side, it does free up a couple of scholarships very nicely. Again, isn’t it remarkable that we actually discipline players for marijuana use? I don’t see other schools doing it. And one of these players was actually suspended for getting caught a second time driving without a license, not for marijuana use. Meyer imposed discipline immediately instead of waiting for a trial or plea bargain, unlike other programs in the area.

    Nice try. Actually, no, not even a good try. Pathetic. Transparently agenda-driven. Shame.

    You’re just wrong. Repeating a wrong assertion even louder does not make it right.

    Thomas was suspended, by university rule, for five games immediately following his second positive test for marijuana. (By the same set of rules, he had already missed one game, the opener, after his first positive.) He was permitted to come back prior to the end of the five-game suspension not by Meyer but by the university appeals committee, which credited his argument that the second positive test was the result of the same drug intake as the first positive test.

    Now you are right that, at that point, Meyer still could have held him out. He chose not to, instead putting him on a strict probation that required him to attend drug counseling classes, to obey a curfew, and not to travel away from campus without Meyer’s permission. Thomas broke those rules, and Meyer kicked him off the team immediately.

    In my opinion, Meyer handled the situation forthrightly and honorably. Your insinuation to the contrary — that he timed the suspensions to coincide with tough games — has traction only if you insist that Meyer should have kicked him off the team after the second offense and should not have even given him a probationary period. That would at least be a fair argument, but I am not aware of any other institution in the SEC or the NCAA that has imposed such tough discipline for pot-smoking. I’m not aware of any coach that has kicked his best defensive player off the team — in a year where an SEC and NCAA championship hung in the balance — for violating a probationary rule about curfews and attending drug counseling classes. Certainly not Phil Fulmer.

    The truth is that Meyer is a strict disciplinarian, and the key to the Gators’ resurgence has been the tougher discipline he has imposed after the lax discipline under Zook. In attempting to suggest otherwise, you are the ones spinning the facts to support your agenda. You are the ones who have cobbled together a list of exaggerated incidents to make it seem like something is there which isn’t. Rationality failing, you are the ones who have gone ad hominem and labeled those of us who dare to point up your deceptions as “fucksticks.” Ouch. Well played, sir.

    Hard as it may be for you to believe, some institutions have disciplinary rules that override a coach’s wishes. Some institutions have independent disciplinary processes, to prevent exactly what you falsely accuse Meyer of doing. Some institutions don’t let the football coach do whatever he wants to do. Some institutions do all this and still find a way to win.

    Others sacrifice integrity on the altar of athletic accomplishment and still get beat.

    I understand all of you schools like to have your right to rush the floor when you beat an Elite level team like florida… and thats cute and all… but it really endagers the players and most of all your students.     Eli, look at about the 30 second mark on the left side of the screen, there is a thin white line pointing to it, which is really pretty hard to see, but it’s obvious once you see it that the Florida player punched a kid in a black jacket.
