I saw a picture of Bobby Bowden this morning. I wondered,”how long until a Bowden gets rumored for the Bama Job?”. Freakishly enough, by ESP, divine grace or intervention the Montgomery Advisor mentions a Bowden this morning. I was really hoping it would be Jeff Bowden of Ebay fame.

As the Alabama coach search enters its third week, the rumors spin by like painted ponies on a carousel, while tinkly circus music plays. Round and round and round she goes. Who will it be? Nobody knows.

Tommy Bowden of Clemson?

This seems to be the name du jour. He meets the stated criterion of being a head coach with a proven record. Here’s his record: Every year he wins about eight or nine games, beats somebody he should lose to and loses to somebody he should beat. But he’d be OK, I guess. Vic Koenning is his defensive coordinator. I liked Vic when he was at Troy.
