As a note, I have decided to accept a commenters suggestion that I accept the UGA signature win for what it is….just a another W. It is time for us all just to move on and stop discussing that the Eers beat the SEC Champion in their own home state. OK? And also, for the commenters complaining about the WVU posts? It is one post a day or less. When the SEC has a winning record against the BE, I will stop posting. Until then KISS MY ASS HOMERS
Who is this guy Colt Brennan? Is Hawaii considered part of the USA? Like Puerto Rico? Does anyone else know that this guy is playing against some of the weakest defenses in college football, not to mention two 1-AA schools? I just wonder what kind of offensive numbers my laser-armed Pat White would put up with that candy-ass schedule and candy-ass conference that Brennan and company will face? I will tell you this, if “Colt” played a Big East Schedule, against Big East defenses, he would not finish the season. The speed of the Big East would be too much. Eer speed kills and yet it is life. What a paradox.
Hawaii is not playing in a conference of juggernauts like WVU, Rutgers or Louisville. He played against 5 teams last year who were BCS caliber (1 SEC, 1 Big Ten, 2 Pac 10, and Boise State).
In those five games he AVERAGED 426 yards passing and a 71.8% completion rate. On top of that, he threw for 17 touchdowns to six interceptions. And these weren’t candy ass teams but then again they weren’t BE teams either. They finished the regular season with combined records of 41-20.
So it’s not like he puts up those numbers just because he’s in the WAC. Don’t forget he also ran for 366 yards.
Hell, if you combined his numbers from last year and the year before, he’s played 9 BCS teams, threw for 3.351 yards, 26 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and a completion percentage of 70.8%.
My point with all of the stats?? Colt could never do that in my league. No way no how would he ever have that kind of success in a BCS Big Boy Conference like the Big East. Our defenses are like racquetball courts, you better be wearing eye protection.
Bottomline for the non-believers: Every quarterback not named Pat White couldn’t run or pass against the defenses of UCONN Cincy and Pitt.
