Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

“So, if he is our coach now, when is he going to go running back to another school so we can get our real coach?”

“When is Wake Forest gonna offer him his contract extension and leave us without a coach?”

Hog fans are waiting, but it looks like they might have this one.

The announcement should be coming today, that Jim Grobe, former coach of Wake Forest, will be the new Arkansas coach.  Yeah, Arkansas got him, and some other people wanted him to…  that’s some kinda of a coup right?  I mean we got him and Michigan wanted him, but didn’t get him.

So Grobe was able to win at a failing program in Ohio, and he made Wake Forest somewhat relevant in football, including a BCS berth which is more than Nutt could say.  Arkansas fans should be excited, but most fans are wait and see.

“We’ll have to see how well he executes a Hog Call”

The Darksiders aren’t happy, they wanted High school coach Gus Malzahn and Mitch Mustain to transfer back from USC.  Fire Jim Grobe.com is already in the works and the message boards are on fire.  300 FOIA requests have been submitted to the state on things that he hasn’t even done yet.

All kidding aside (hopefully), Arkansas fans are really just ready to get back to football though.  Both sides don’t want anymore drama and are waiting to see if Jim Grobe is the salve that can bring The Darksiders and the Nutthuggers together.  Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas.

On with Grobe and On with Football. We don’t know what the future brings.  We’re not ecstatic, but we’re not screaming and angry.  Hog fans are just glad to have a coach.

“Now, let’s hope Jim Grobe can pull the biggest recruiting job in history and keep Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, right?”

  7. He could take one, and if he’s smart he will take one, but then on the other hand Michigan is the dream, and he could coach up there for 20 years if he wants and probably bring home about 10 national championship berths and if he’s lucky, he might win one when a non-SEC team is the opponent.
