Pat White for Heisman. Why aren’t more people putting Pat’s name in for a candidate in the Heisman race? He has proven that he can win the big games. As for Coach Stewart, well personally i love him. He’s calm under pressure and knows exactly what he wants from this explosive ballteam. My expectation is an undefeated season with BCS Championship Trophy to boot! High 5!!

Just more proof that the Heisman is a joke, because Pat White should have crushed Tebow for that trophy. Look at the fire an heart of Pat White versus national power UConn. Check the devastating block Pat White lays on this future NFL Big East player. I promise you that Tebow would not sacrfice his body for a teammate or his team. Team play doesn’t really seem to be a big issue in the SEC.

I haven’t had a chance to watch either of these QB’s more than a handful of time all last year, but I am amazed that Tebow is considered the better of the two. White looked like a machine in the Fiesta Bowl – running his ass off, throwing great deep balls, and handing off to the great RB’s that WVU has. And he’s doing it against a great defense on OU’s side of the ball. Tebow was OK against an inferior defense in Michigan, but even in his “quality” wins this season, he looked nowhere near the way White looked against a team that would have won the SEC, Oklahoma.

If he is able to throw for over 2500 yards this year…..in essence proving his ability to pass the ball….and rush for over 1000 he will win the Heisman trophy and be drafted in the first round.

If Pat passes for under 2000 and rushes for over 1500 he will NOT win the Heisman and will be drafted in the early to late 2nd round as a WR.

Either way….if he can bring WVU to the National Title game and he will win it all….he will go down as one of the most talented College Football players of all time.

    I don’t even think i can list all the errors in this post. I will name some though. 1.National Power UConn? 2. Coach Stewart calm under pressure? he has coached 1 game. 3. No big east team, under current configuration will win a BCS title. 4. Tebow did and probably will sacrifice his body for the team, that is how he got hurt. he did that agiant the coaches wishes too, heart. 5. Team play not an issue in SEC? please remove head from ass and open eyes. Chew on those for a while. Pitt owns WVU

    MCFADDEN deserved the Heisman before white. He put a team on his back like no player ever has before. Have you seen the passing game Arkansas had last year? The fullback was the leader in receptions! The opposing defenses would put everyone in the box and still 200 against LSU, 321 against South Carolina, 180 against Alabama….

    You have got to be kidding. Go to http://www.PatWhitePlaysHere.com to see what Pat White is all about. The Big East has been just as good as any other conference in maybe even better in Bowl Season. WVU is one of only like 3 teams to have several consective BSC New Years Day Bowl games.

    The last few years the “power house schools” like FSU, ND, Miami and Penn State are not so powerful any more.

    You Florida Gator fans all think you are some sort of the 2nd coming every year. WVU can hang. Yeah we screwed up against Pitt. No body, but no body thought WVU would even compete with OK. If you need to fresh your memory on the thumping WVU gave OK in the Fiesta Bowl go to You Tube.

    Pat White has more class and poise than any other player in America. He has been the MVP of the Big East the few years. And has been part of the most dangerous backfield in the country.

    Oh and every team in the last few years WVU has played against outside the Big East they have one…Missippi State in the 2007 seasaon, Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, Georgia Teach in the Gator Bowl, Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl…We have one the best records in America over the last 3 years.

    So I am soooooo tired of hearing about how weak the Big East .

    Oh yeah to the comment on WVU plays in the JV league or whatever….WVU has finished in the top 10 in the country the last 3 years. Please watch this season and really get to know why WVU is so , but more importantly why Pat White is just as worthy of the Heisman as any other player in America. You also may learn what a good football team is all about. Also we are playing Auburn and Colorado this season…and we have to play an improved Pitt, a several teams that have been ranked in the top 25 – Louisville, USF and Cinci.

    I’m going to have to throw in my two cents on this topic… WVU and Pat White are garbage! The only reason this team is even receiving recognition is because Virginia Tech, Miami and Boston College are no longer in the Big East. Before the big 3 left for the ACC, the best bowl game West Virginia could manage to make it to was the Continental Tire Bowl!
    @17 Get real! As I’ve stated in previous posts about the “kissing cousins” of WVU, your team beats up on the remaining Big Least (Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse and UConn) and a handful of defunct C-USA teams and now claim to be tough guys! LOL Get the f*#k outta here! And since you want to bring up old out of conference schedules, I see you kindly managed to leave out that ass whoopin that WVU was served up at the hands of Marcus Vick and the rest of my Hokies in Morgantown of ’05. 34-17 ring a bell? Your beloved superhero Pat White and his trusty sidekick Steve Slaton were shutdown by the lunchpail D of VT… I can’t wait until our rivalry starts up again, just to shut you WVU fans up and send you back on your annual New Year’s Day trips to Charlotte!

    Blade Jr # 5 – I think you need to check your facts. WVU played in the Sugar bowl against Florida in 1993, and oh yeah we played in the Fiesta bowl for the national championship in 1989 against Notre Dame. And we have gone to the Gator Bowl a few times in the 2000s…we played Maryland and GT. And give me a break on the whole the Big 3 thing…and none of them have done much since….give me a break…I maybe a girl but I know college football. It has only been in the last season that VT and BC has gotten back in the limelight…The U has sucked for serveral years.

    West Virginia finished the season ranked four times: in 2002 (25th), 2005 (5th), 2006 (10th) and 2007 (6th).

    If WVU is such a shame why is everyone trying this whole spread offense thing…

    To Ms. Kim: I’m gonna take it easy on you, because it’s truly not in my nature to direct trash talk toward women. With that said, it’s funny how you brag about bowl games that happened some 15 (Sugar Bowl v. Florida, which by the way, was not a BCS Bowl) & almost 20 (Championship Game v Notre Dame) years ago! I really find it funny, because half of your references about WVU’s dominance against out of conference opponents just so happened to take place in BCS Bowl Games. The BCS, in case you were wondering, had its first inaugural season in 1998, not 1989 or 1993. You played in the Gator Bowl in 2004 and 2005, VT and Miami left the Big Least in ’04 and BC the following year, ’05. So once again I reiterate, WVU would not be even up for consideration to win a MNC let alone its own conference if VT, Miami, and BC were still playing in the Big Least. I guess you never stopped to realize how much more improved your final records are since 2005. Take a look at them, and tell me if I’m wrong. It ain’t because WVU got better, it’s because your level of competition went down with the exit of the Big 3. Barely finishing in the top 25 in 2002 to being ranked in the top 10 the past 3 seasons may just be the icing on the cake of my point. Open your eyes, Kim!!! The Mountainqueers just happened to be in the right place at the right time, the Big East in 2005.
    None of them have done much since??? VT has won the ACC Title twice and been to just as many BCS bowl games as WVU after leaving the Big Least.
    As far as the spread offense thing goes… I can’t knock it. I would have loved to have seen Michael Vick run the spread.

    Please…There is competition. So why is everyone and the pollsters voiting for WV. I mean they don’t have to but they do. If the Big Eas has no quality teams and in turn no players….why was Pat White, Ray Rice, Steve Slaton, and the QB from Louisville all in the Hiesman talks.

    If we go by what you say WVU and any Big East team should never crack the Top 25. Maybe you should take your plea to the pollsters.
    I mean if you think it is such a valid point they will take it to heart.

    Blade – I can hang with any guy so please do not use I am going to be a gentlemen angle..about college football.
    I am not living in the past but you want to talk about WVU and how bad they are and have always been…really not the case.

    We are more than at the right place and the right time.

    WVU may not have the recruiting abilities of a UM or UF or USC or even OSU but what we do get we turn into nationally known names.

    Pat White, Steve Slaton, Owen Schmitt, and Noel Devine….to name a few. That is OK keep your Big Least opinion !
    We play the schedule we are dealt and these schedules as you know are planned out years in advance not knowing what teams are going to do or where they are in their program.

    My point of saying we have beat schools outside the Big East in Bowl games is to show we can hang….give us Ohio State, UF, Georgia (which we beat when they were stacked a few years ago), LSU…we like being the underdog – we thrive when NO ONE thinks we can win.
    Just adds fuel to the fire.

    @ Kim: The BCS has to hype up the potential winner of every BCS conference in order to line them up against another potential BCS conference team, that is why your team gets voted so highly every year since 2005. Everyone with some sort of common football sense knows that WVU should win the Big East every year. It’s a weak conference! Let me break this down for you young lady: Rutgers, a fluke. Greg Schiano should have gotten out when he had the chance. Louisville, use to be a powerhouse offense under Bobby Petrino, and continues to have absolutely no defense. Any quaterback in the country could have told the ‘Ville defense at the line of scrimmage what play they were going to run, and they still wouldn’t be able to stop it. Cincy, all D and no O. UConn, they had a favorable schedule last year up until they had to play the better teams in the Big Least and we all saw what happened to their record. Pitt, all Shady McCoy and nothing else. Syracuse, garbage! South Florida, football is a game of attrition, they start out like a house of fire, but then wear themselves out at the end of every year. Your conference is questionable at best! Steve Slaton, the best player on your team and for that matter best in your conference, was taken way back in the third round of this year’s draft! Oh and by the way teams aren’t made up of individual players. Remember Kim, there’s no I in team.

    Kim: WVU has been getting decent recruits the past couple of years, but it’s not because they all want to just come to Morgantown to play football for the Mountainqueers, they can’t qualify at any other schools, because they’re all dumb asses. Tell me how exactly Noel Devine qualified to get into WVU with a rumored 1.86 GPA out of high school with absolutely no prep school needed, I’ll tell you why, because WVU will take anyone that they can in order to help them win. That’s really sad! With Deion Sanders as his mentor, everyone knew Devine was a lock go to Florida State, but even ole Bobby Bowden couldn’t bend the rules that much to get him into FSU.
    No, I think your team should definitely be in the Top 25, I’m just saying that WVU wouldn’t be ranked as high if VT, Miami and BC were still in the Big Least. Oh yeah, by the way you never did respond to my inquiry about WVU’s final records after the exit of the big three. Hell, I’ll do you one better and ask you to take a look at Rutgers records too! It ain’t a coincidence!

    Blade…have NOT looked into the record of WVU after the “big 3” left. Please they left for money and the ACC is not all that….please. Their traditional power house teams have suffered as of late…..

    Noel could have gone to FSU if he wanted…Deion could have gotten him in grades or not…Deoin did not want him to go to WVU….I know a few people at WVU…I am from there…

    Well I hope all the thugs Miami recruits works out for them. God knows that have sucked the last 3 or so years.

    Apparently you have your opinion on the Big East and I have mine.

    Blade Jr., West Virginia didn’t lose their BCS bowl, unlike VT losing to Kansas. OUCH!!! Not even the division champion, who WVU beat. Go back to ur ACC, who critics say is the worst BCS conference. Pat White is getting the Heisman while VT sucks. Plus, having no championship is better than beng a pussy and leaving the Big East cuz u saw other teams coming on. The Big East is doing just fine without u. Stop crying cuz u want back in.

    @29: So… it’s not true that he had a 1.86??? Ok, well then explain to me how the kid grows up his whole life a Florida State fan; he goes to the same school that his idol “Neon” Deion Sanders did; he gets taken in by Deion; all indications were pointing to him going to Florida State; then the news breaks that he’s a complete retard and only has a 1.86 GPA in high school and there was no way that he would be able to qualify into any major state school on a scholarship, not even Florida State; everyone knew that he was going to have to prep which he wasn’t happy about; suddenly WVU tops his radar at the end of his recruitment, which Deion was totally against; then he magically qualifies to get into WVU, and that’s where the story continues. You can try to convince yourself that it’s not true about his GPA all you want. I’m telling you that it’s a pretty good probability that the rumor is true, otherwise Noel would be wearing Garnet and Gold on Saturday’s in the fall. It happens all the time with your school chief, don’t take it so personally. How do you think Owen Schmitt got away from VT and UVA? He’s a Virginia boy that couldn’t qualify into either state school.

    @30: This is true, Tech did lose to Kansas, but since you wanna bring up loses, I’d much rather lose to Big XII runner Kansas in a BCS Bowl Game, than sub .500 Pittsburgh at home none the less to erase our National Championship Game hopes. I think that one stung just a tad bit more! OUCH!!! Pat White is not going to win the Heisman! Your boy has been lucky to have been blessed with a talented backfield and a conference full of teams outside of South Florida (which by the way has beaten you two years running) that has no speed. The Big Least is almost as slow as the Big 10. He’s the best weapon to have in a slow conference. Coming on? What teams? WVU? Motherfucka, don’t make me laugh! VT, Miami, and BC leaving the Big Least was the best thing to happen to WVU. Before they left your team was a constant fourth place finisher. The Continental Tire Bowl was the best bowl game WVU could make it to when the Big 3 were smacking you Big Least pussies around. Open your eyes dude! Stop being so damn naive! Why would we want back in? We’re dominating the ACC! You know nothing…….Your words–>”Before they left your team was a constant fourth place finisher.” In 2003 and 2004 they were ch-champs……’03 was with Miami where we were one Kellen Winslow Jr. fingertip catch from solo-champs…..and in ’04 we just folded and BC won…….(In 2003 Virginia Tech was 8-5)……That’s called exposure…….You get a good coach and scheme and you win…..In ’03 we were co-champs with a WR as quarterback……every program starts somewhere……..Virginia Tech wasn’t always good……and Finally…..The Big East has the best bowl record over the past few years……..once again you don’t know anything and your biased in your lack of knowledge………..

    Co-Champs, huh? Wow! Impressive… you pick one year that had all 3 teams before their migration (Get it? The mascots are all birds! LOL I crack myself up) to the ACC in ’04 and ’05. What I was talking about when I said “constant” I meant consistent 4th place finisher, not 1 year when all three teams were still in the Conference. Let’s see here, ’03 was a lame duck year for VT they were headed to the ACC there was no longer any love nor interest in Big East games. Exposure??? We had Bryan Randall at QB… Let’s see a QB that can’t beat you throwing the ball, so let’s stack the box and have our corners squat on short routes… Yeah, real innovative coaching… Obviously WVU’s coaches weren’t the only ones to figure this out (i.e. 8-5). Tech (won the ACC) and Miami weren’t in the BE in 2004 and BC won the Big Least that year. You’re right every program does have to start somewhere. I just want WVU to play quality teams and win against them in the regular season (i.e. VT 34 – WVU 17 in Morgantown in ’05 w/ Pat White and Steve Slaton) and not always gloat about winning 1 game in January. The seasons are comprised of 12 games not 1, and if that 1 ain’t the National Championship Game, well then all your doing is taking a paid vacation over New Year’s.

    The funny thing is that assuming your real views are what you type, you are a worthless, nonathletic nerd because if you new absolutely ANYTHING, you would know that unless all fingers are healed, it’s impossible to grip a football comfortably. I guess you’ve never done that! And it really isn’t that everyone can’t because Brett Favre’s done it many times with his thumb, but he’s like 6’1″ 192 lbs. His hands are small….FOOTBALL = BIG……He bobbles the ball enough as it is…….He’s a baseball player, or will be one day for the Angels (5th Round Selection). WVU equally quality teams as VT…..except LSU but you don’t get credit for that (48-7)……..The ACC is the weakest BCS conference hands down. It’s basketball! Every year, the Big “Least” is the “weakest” conference. And every year we prove the people handing out that title WRONG.

    VT winning the ACC < WVU winning the Big East

    Even as weak as the Big Ten is, that conference is still better than the ACC. Thanks only to the Dominance of Ohio State. (WHO BY THE WAY GOT SMOKED THE LAST 2 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES) Bowl season is how teams are measured. Every team is playing the best ball at the season’s end and when conferences clash, and the Big East comes out on top, (which they have the past few year) then that is an adequate measurement of conferences.

    First of all chief, before you begin running your mouth about somebody being a worthless, nonathletic nerd, I’d like to ask if you’ve ever played a down of competitive football outside of your pussy two-hand-touch in your backyard? Oh, I remember you! Didn’t you make 1st team all-state a couple of years ago at left bench? Yea that’s you! Maybe you were too fat and slow to ever actually get your hands on the ball and for that matter ever get into a game. Do me a favor, find the closest thing to a football in your house and grip it like your Doug Flutie getting ready to sling that Hail Mary against Miami, but instead of gripping the ball with 5 fingers, use all but your pinky (raise it as if you were sipping tea with the Queen). Now, throw the ball. Ok? Now, tell me, that ain’t too uncomfortable is it? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had my hands smashed by helmets especially my pinky and was still able to stay in the game and play through the pain throwing and all (I started on both sides of the ball 3rd team all state, PA 2003). That was a bullshit injury! He punked out, plain and simple! Unless the guy has hands the size of an eleven year old child, he should have been ok to throw the ball. The only thing that would’ve kept any other player from playing in a game that important is if their pinky ended up like Ronnie Lott’s. So, let’s see, do I want the least important finger on the football to keep me out of the game or have me stay in order to take my team to a National Championship Game… Hmm… I think I’d choose the latter of the two options. Stop making excuses for the kid! He should be ashamed of himself!

    Who has WVU played out-of-conference of equal quality. Yea, 48-7. I still cringe every time I read that score, but hey, we split the 1and 1 and that’s all that matters to me. At least Tech schedules games against top-tier opponents: LSU, Ohio State (backed out), USC, Wisconsin (backed out), Michigan (backed out), Nebraska, Texas A&M and that’s just off the top of my head.

    Like I said in an earlier post, seasons are made up of 12 regular season games and if your lucky 1 bowl game. It’s what you do with those 12 games before December and January that matter. Wow! You’ve won two BCS bowl games, one against a Georgia team that underestimated you and another against an Oklahoma team that proved two years in a row that they’re a joke! Hell, they lost to fucking Boise St. for crying out loud! OU is overhyped every year! From top to bottom the ACC is better than the Big Least! All the BE has is WVU and maybe South Florida! There’s not another team in that conference that would even be able to remotely compete in the ACC. You’ve got to be kidding me! I think you listen to Mark May and other ESPN analysts just a little too much! Herbstreit’s a Big 10 alum, he’s gonna protect the Big 10’s interest for Ohio State, and Mark May’s a Big Least alum and he’s gonna protect their’s in order to make Pitt (garbage) look better. Name me 4 teams in the BE that are better than: VT, Clemson, FSU, and BC. I dare you to try!

    All that gimmicky spread offense bullshit doesn’t work here in the ACC chief, we’ve way too much speed for that!     When Pat’s pinky was hurt, he didnt go back in because Rich-Rod wouldn’t put him in (not previously mentioned). And the injury prolly isn’t as bad as i made it out to because i never hurt my pinky and had to play QB, (WR/SS), and I have smashed my finger in many helmets while playin the 3-3-5 (where there’s to SS’s playin like LB which i’m sure u know) and it really didn’t hurt in my experiences. But Rich-Rod wouldn’t put him in…..I watched the game live with my Noel Devine jersey on…..Pat kept throwing on the sideline but Rich-Fraud wouldn’t put him in…….that’s one reason the rich-fraud/WVU thing has been so bad (and all those damn bubble screens)……….And by the way I started on both sides of the ball on football as well, but I was 3rd team all state in basketball and baseball, WV 2007.

    Rich-Fraud??? Damn homey, you sound like your feelings have been hurt!!! That man made that program what it is today, and WVU fans talk about him like a dog! That’s sad… The man had some demands for a football program that weren’t met while at WVU, namely improved football facilities. Those demands were more than exceedingly met at Michigan, so if WVU fans want to point the finger at anybody, it should be directed toward the administration for allocating the funds the football program was bringing in elsewhere. That’s why he left!
