I know that I sure as hell don’t miss his ass, 31 TDs and lack of SEC Championship rings. The SEC CG is much more important than the BCS. The BCS is about the denali. The SEC is for those who don’t use the fundementals as a crutch.
Man that boy could shred a defense. Granted he was no Manning, but he was a badass when he was on. Ask any UGA fan what they think about him. Ainge owned Richt. Anytime you mention his name around a Dawg they come to life. I hate just as much as anyone that he threw two picks to cost us the LSU game. But he left it on the field that night. That whole team played out of there minds.
Remember the 07 UK game…. Didn’t he have like 400+ yards and 6-7 TD’s!?!? Whoopty damn-do, if you need 5 OTs to pad your stats against Kentucky then maybe you should not wear orange.
Keep this in mind: Many Vols fans didn’t like Ainge because he didn’t like contact, or so they say. He should have delivered a crushing blows like Jon Crompton does. Look at him administrating punishment to a Florida DB (below).
Look at this stats and tell me if you see the seem trend. Jon Crompton is going to have a break out year.
- Ainge’s fourth year on campus: 62% completion, 3,500 yards, 31 TD, 10 Int. All with a broken finger on his throwing hand and a bum shoulder.
- Crompton’s fourth year on campus: 51% completion, 889 yards, 4 TD, 5 Int.
I promise you that Charley Strong is having some sleepless nights in Gainesville trying devise a gameplan that can contain the powerful young Crompton. Even considering Tebow to play noseguard on short yardage plays. Neyland Stadium’s Ghosts are going to rise up and propel young Crompton to Glory.

Crompton will make us forget about Ainge. Mark it down. Joe Haden ain’t forgot.
