Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

All I can say is:  Thank you for staying at Tennessee,  Jon.  Oh how lucky we are!!  Marlon Brown?  You were afraid to sign with Tennessee because of Cromps?  You Sir are nothing but a “no-go” at the football station!! Jon I knew that you would have been the darling of the NFL draft if you had come out early.  Better to let old Matt Stafford go up to Detroit and fail.

God Bless America, Jon Crompton, MDVs, sweet buttermilk and the Tennessee Volunteers!!

Here is a video loosely based on the legend of  Vol QB Jon Crompton.
