Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Meyer’s new deal short of Donovan’s…hee-hee…the ganja crop is excellent [Roll me a fattie].

Florida, who manage to lose money while winning the BCS National Championship [Dumb], continues to display an alarming lack of fiscal prowness.  Jeremy “Rainman” Foley had this to say about paying a Basketball Coach more money than a football coach at a football school:

Foley dismissed the notion that because Florida has a long and rich history (really?) as a football school, he couldn’t pay Donovan more than Meyer.

“From Day 1 those two negotiations were separate, ” he said. “Certainly Billy Donovan’s circumstance is a competitive offer from another institution (Kentucky) and a competitive offer from a professional basketball organization. So to sit here and say, well, you can’t do this for one, that wouldn’t be fair. In Urban’s world, there’s a set of circumstances for what national championship coaches get paid and what the highest-paid coaches get paid. You have to treat either one fairly in the world they compete in. Besides the drought  has made the marijuana crop so much stronger and potent.  Using supply and demand, we can augment Herban’s pockets.”
