Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Lindys, showing why they are considered the South Carolina/Ole Most Miss of the Preseason Fluffer magazines, tries to make the reader believe that South Carolina actually had a swagger.  Maybe there was tiny Steve Tanneyhill mullet swagger in the 90’s, but just a little bit.  Read these paragraphs, they sum up the Cocks mindset:  Moral victories count…

Only a well-timed leap by Florida defensive end Jarvis Moss on a field goal block prevented the Gamecocks from knocking off the eventual national champion Gators last season.

And there were narrow losses to Auburn, Tennessee and Arkansas in which the Gamecocks had their chances.

South Carolina then closed the season with three consecutive victories, including a road win over archrival Clemson and a Liberty Bowl victory over Houston.

If Lindys can discuss last season’s moral victories, then the Cock’s  real victory over Wofford, 27-20 most certainly should be brought up too.  Wofford?  WTF?  Supposedly, [Yahoo] the Cocks have the toughest schedule in the SEC.   The Cocks travel to UGA, LSU, UT and Arkansas.  Spurrier will run into a buzzsaw and our pick for the SEC East Champion,  Kentucky in October.  On the plus  side, they have bottomfeeding Mississippi State at home and do not not face our SEC Champion pick Ole Miss at all.

If Lindys continues to publish articles like this we believe that  they will  see the asses of Phil Steele and Athlon forever.

  1. Good shit, Jai!

  2. If “Ifs” and buts were candy and nuts……..

  3. If you really do look at it, Carolina was a couple plays away from beating both Auburn and Tennessee last season (and, shit, what do I know – I was in the press box for both games). They were competitive in every loss, and could have won each, with the exception of the Georgia game.

But I wouldn’t go to a Tennessee fan for intelligent analysis. Maybe about making meth labs, but not so much on football.

  4. You are a journalist? Like wow, I would have never guessed…Bammer. Do you have Logan Young’s Visa?

This is fucking rich, a Bammer, an arrogant bammer talking shit.

  5. “and, shit, what do I know – I was in the press box for both games”

Nice, in an attempt to be sarcastic, you actually tell the truth. Do you have any idea how many teams are a couple of plays from victory in every sport played? Those couple of plays is the difference from being average as grits or being a good team. Those couple of plays is what makes South Carolina, South Carolina. It will always be that way for them. So close, yet so far, far away.

No one should ever underestimate how tough those “couple of plays” are to make, because good teams stop those plays from happening. Being “competitive in a loss” is loser talk. Blake Mitchell will not take the gamecocks anywhere.

  6. Yes, that is our lurking Bammer. He is militant and arrogant. I think that he was Logan Young’s memphis bag man. The fella that actually exchanged currency for the players….Furthermore he hates the term ” Bammer”
