Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Shit, I know that this old news [ESPN]. But holy hell, I gotta say something about it. I’m glad ESPN is doing this because they care about the Hokie Nation, not because they’re soulless attention whores with no conscience. I can’t wait until Chris Fowler, Corso, Herbstreit, Mark May and Lou Holtz descend on Blacksburg to get sappy stories. I hope that the Tech fans cock-punch each one of them on national television.

The location of Game Day should be determined by the quality of the matchup between the two schools. In this case the matchup is a joke. ESPN is merely blanketing themselves in manufactured “grief” just to score ratings. Tech doesn’t need to be exploited anymore than it already has.

On a sidenote, does anyone know what conference is ECU in? Is it the Big East? They sound like a Big East team…What is their mascot?

What is next for VT? Do we let them win their entire season? VT literally plays a just a shade above a B-List BCS Big East-esque schedule anyway. I do feel bad for East Carolina. As if that game wasn’t going to suck enough for them already. I think that ECU has absolutely no shot. The game will most likely be prime time, and it is extremely difficult to beat Va Tech at home at night. Lane Stadium will be rocking.

Now if Frank Beamer can get a handle of the issue of VaTech players that like to dance to the stadium music during timeouts…during blowout losses…[lunchpail]

But then I thought of it this way: at least having game day at Tech will mean the whole show won’t be a two hour long cock-block of Jimmy Clausen/Tim Tebow/Herban Meyer coverage.
