Ahhhhh, so the doubts begin. Pass the Motts Apple Juice….
What’s this I keep hearing on the Gator message boards that our conference’s
resident Chuck Norris – known as Tim Tebow – is not performing so good in practice lately? I’ve checked the Florida forums, and all of the recent threads about practices or how the lizards are rating are being deleted as fast as they are being posted, so I’m concerned. Is the backup John Brantley taking to the practice field with a chunk of kryptonite tucked in his back pocket??? Gator guys, please spill the beans.
Here are some no-shit quotes from Florida fans:
Quote:
He looks likes he should be nowhere on the field. Throwing picks, missing guys, the whole 9. Don’t be shocked if Brantley starts.

On another Gator message board they have a guy giving a play by play, and Tebow is doing awful.

It’s also open to the public and most Gator fans I know have gone out, and he just looks lost throwing the ball. Unless Meyer plans on going exclusively to the option, he mig
ht have to pull him.

Heard the same thing. From a few other places, that Tebow has looked like the worst QB on the field. Yay, just what I wanted to hear.

Just read it Dreamliner (referring to a practice report on Swampgas). At first I thought that rivals were talking smack. Apparently, Tebow is just really bad right now
Playing grab-ass with guys like that in the picture may have contributed to Tebow’s stunted development as a QB. I keep waiting for NBC’s Chris Hansen to pop in the picture.
These are the same fans that wanted Tim Tebow to start before he even threw a pass in college. Recruiting services and recruiting gurus do not always predict accurately success at the college level. Tim Tebow will be a solid qb but he has a lot of work to do. Certainly a prudent man would believe that if he was such a great passer and a great runner, we would have seen him much more last year.

People get really excited when you add a QB that seems to fit the Spread Option offense to a T. The Gators believed that Tebow was definitely the cherry to the sundae. But, the dessert will still be very good without the cherry. What the Gators can’t have is a rotten cherry on top. That could spoil the whole dish. Last year’s rotten fruit was Chris Leak. Anyone remember him being booed at the Swamp when he replaced Tebow on a drive? I remember it well. If Tebow survives the first games of the season, how long till the Gators turn on him too?
Don’t fret Gators…Many Gators have pointed to losing Chris Leak, a 4 year starter,
and wondering how they can be so optimistic about this year. The key is looking at the development of the offensive line. They seem to have a very deep, talented, and experienced line. This is definitely a core success factor for an offense. Then you add the number of receiving/running threats that the Gators have… wow! So if Tebow fails, then you still have Brantley.
