Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Every school in the SEC is in awe of the media influence and football prowess that the University of Florida possesses. This awe soured into jealousy, which in turn led to fear. As Herban Meyer became stronger like a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, the fear has grown. Why? The appearance of  Lou Holtz the judge, jury and executioner of  the Kangaroo Court  known as College Football Live, to watch Florida’s practice.    [Gatorsports]

Lou Holtz visited coach Urban Meyer and watched the Gators early morning practice at the Village South Fields on Florida’s campus. Holtz, wearing a blue Florida hat, spoke to the team and watched part of practice before driving off.

Meyer learned his “craft” at the feet of Holtz who always left every program that he coached  just a little bit better than the way that he found it.  Now Holtz is a talking head in the liberal drive-by media that wields his powerful influence to counter Coach Herban’s critics that question Meyer’s ability to exhibit the leadership qualities necessary to lead a team of impressionable young men.
