This week’s player who brought the wood: Tiquan Underwood, WR Rutgers. Underwood, who had 23 catches for 290 yards last year, nearly matched that in one game, going 248 yards on 10 receptions with two scores against Buffalo. The 6-2, 180 pound junior stepped in nicely in the Scarlet Knights’ season opener which they won…

This week’s player who brought the wood: Tiquan Underwood, WR Rutgers.

Underwood, who had 23 catches for 290 yards last year, nearly matched that in one game, going 248 yards on 10 receptions with two scores against Buffalo. The 6-2, 180 pound junior stepped in nicely in the Scarlet Knights’ season opener which they won 38-3 on Friday night. Accounting for 76.5% of your team’s passing offense (QB Mike Teel had 324 yards passing on the night) is definitely one way to make people sit up and pay attention. It will be interesting to see how Underwood performs the rest of the year because at this rate he’s projecting to finish with 2976 receiving yards, which would be more than most teams will finish with combined.

    I’m an SEC homer, but player of the week has to go to DeSean Jackson. If you get rid of Underwood, Rutgers still rolls.

    I got another player that you shoulda considered. Armanti Edwards

    Cal still wins without Jackson as well. He had no offensive touchdowns, and 45 yards of offense on 4 catches if you take away the punt return.

    Edwards was another good choice.

    Jackson is a thug. He would be better suited dressing up as a tranny and looking for johns

    Yeah I would have to say Cal probably would’ve won without him. I was under the impression his was a momentum swinging TD and stuff, but Tenn came right back and made it 21-21 after that.

    The numbers of the game look even, but Cal was able to score when they moved the ball and Tenn couldn’t. Getting stopped on the 1 yard line like that and keeping it a 3 score game instead of getting the field goal to make it a 2-score game was probably the bonehead fulmer play of the game.
