Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

WTF was a chick doing writing a story about football? [link]

Were there no stories left to write in the family section?

JENNI: FIX ME A SANDWICH AND THEN IRON MY SHIRT!!!!

I thought the really bad thing about Mike Gundy’s rant [video link] was that he pretty much ended up confirming everything she wrote about the player with what he said. I mean, the basic thrust of the column was that the player is immature and unable to lead a team, and Gundy talked about him like he’s an eight-year old who got a wedgie on the school bus. In short, like an immature child who can’t lead a team.

Gundy did no one any favors with his ranting. As said above, he should have kept this entirely in-house.
