So the PreseasonEarly Season Tournaments are starting to wrap up. Teams like Arkansas, Duke, Mississippi St., UConn, and Miami use these tournaments to get some steady competition before they load up on their cupcakesMid Majors, which really can upset them. Appalachian State happens every day in the world of college basketball, and teams still load up on the terrible teams. But wins in Maui, Puerto Rico, NIT Preseason, and Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, become stepping stones to the NCAA tournament.
“Oh I know Arkansas went 6-10 in SEC play, but they beat Southern Illinois in November, and we think Southern Illinois is good now”
The preseason Tournament will make the difference for those bubble teams in March, but the question becomes… does anybody really care? Does Chaminade ever win at Maui? A Gardner-Webb can actually make it to New York, but can they win?
Okay, and what the hell is up with the CARRS/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout? Here are your contestants.
- Alaska Anchorage – Wow they have a college up there?
- Butler – Hey look at us, we surprised people last year!

- Gonzaga – Pick us to win and we lose… Pick us to lose and we win… Fuck you and your Tournament Picks!
- Michigan – Go Blue! Fuck You!
- Texas Tech – These guys have to cover the bruises with makeup before they get on t.v.
- Virginia Tech – I have nothing mean nor nice to say about you
- Western Kentucky – We take a backseat to three schools in our state in basketball… Kentuckians care about us less than Murray State!
Is this not the worst tournament ever? It’ll only be good if Bob Knight chokes a player out!
Rather than wasting your time with this shit, just tune into football this weekend and watch the BCS self destruct when UGA plays Ohio St. in the National Championship. I’ll let you know when college basketball gets good… Has anyone noticed that the Freshman players are really good or something this year?
