Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Les Miles has done enough to commit himself to LSU. He won’t back out of the Bayou and do a Saban. Talk about freaking good karma. Les commits to LSU then WVU and Mizzou both choke. LSU is the SEC Champion and now going to the National Championship? Are you f’n kidding me?

And……..Remember that it was Kirk Herbstreit, tOSU Failboat alum, that started the Miles to Michigan rumor. He knew that force Miles’ to make the decision between LSU and Michigan. So if Michigan lost out on Miles, it was Herbstreit’s fault.

Now, all we need is for the SEC to embarass Ohio State again and maybe they will stop letting the waste of space Failboats into the national championship game on a cupcake schedule.

Michigan will have to go look for someone else quickly before their recruits get spooked and end up going elsewhere.

  1. Aww. Somebody wishes they hadn’t lost the SEC championship. How sweet.

  2. possibly the dumbest comment ever?

  3. Could be.

I actually took the post in a positive light. I don’t have a problem with Herbstreit “breaking” the story, but I question his ethics as to the timing. Miles was visibly pissed, and I almost think he made a snap decision to stay put just to make Herbsteit look bad. ESPN should clean house, and get some objectivity in there. Then again, the real stars of college FB are either playing on Sunday, or are filthy rich from playing on Sunday, and don’t need a job, or are smart enough to have careers outside of FB.

  4. If by dumbest comment ever you mean that I’d be pretty sore too if I hated corndogs as much as you and made a photo blog to record Tennessee’s “Day of Destiny,” only to see them choke it up, then yeah! Dumbest comment ever!

  5. Hey look! Isn’t that the same picture of the Neutron Man on Jai’s desktop?

  6. The SEC will probably embarrass the Big Ten again. Of course Tennessee had nothing to do with that last year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t help out the SEC again this year.

  7. Hey look! Isn’t that the same picture of the Neutron Man on Jai’s desktop? Comans you just got beat.

Of course I would have liked UT to win. I like LSU just fine btw

  8. @6 How boring is Wisconsin? Good lord…why the fuck are we playing them?

I guess we could be playing in ritzy Shreveport

  9. I thought it was kinda rediculous about the timing.. Les Miles isn’t a bad guy. He’s just nuts, thats all..

He did a good job of shutting them up, and turning it around… To be honest, with all the drama this past weekend, and all the teams in the Top 6, trying to “sell” their shit to the voters.. Miles did a DAMN good job of keeping LSU on TV and in the minds of everyone.

  10. Sore losers?? Nahh.. Everyone talks shit here, but I’ll be damned if there are any bad sports on here.. Everyone does it, but it’s all SEC mostly(save for some of you BE, B10 queers)..

I hate UT, and LSU, and Auburn.. However, when it gets to the marbles, as much as I’d piss in a LSU hat, or wipe the mud off my truck with a UT shirt.. I’d raise a beer and wish them well in anything that involves crystal, gold, silver, titties and money.

  11. @9 Miles is unequal parts nuts, guts, and occasional stupidity, with the actual percentages dependent on the situation, and what side of bed he got up on. The stupidity part has shown recently with his repeatedly mentioning that “undefeated in regulation” thing. Man, if he brings that up one more time, I’m going to drive down to Baton Rouge and take a dump in that hat. However, I did like how he came on TV and made Herbstreit look kind of foolish, although I’m not convinced he’s staying until Michigan has signed someone.

  12. @8 Yeah, they’re about as boring as Penn State was last year. I guess that’s the excuse Tennessee fans had last year for their “debacle” in Tampa. The team was so bored, they just “fell asleep.”

  13. Just don’t get too stoked over Miles until there is a coach signed at scUM. Remember that

  14. I don’t know what’s going on in that picture, but I’m pretty sure it’s illegal.

  15. Sink the Failboat (pops)

  16. @13 Read the last sentence @11

  17. @12 I’m guessing that Fulmer will wake his players up at halftime, and then they’ll nod off again once Wisconsin starts running up the middle in the 2nd half.

  18. everybody judges the buckeyes and big ten last year on one game – i want someone here to explain to me how if the sec is sooo good and big ten sucks then how in the world did the sec have a losing record to the big ten in bowl games last yr?

  19. in recent yrs where the big ten has allowed more than just one team to attend bowl games they have kicked sec ass all over the field – o except for the florida game so keep riding on that one hard – osu will beat lsu by at least 2 tds january
