In the CFB off-season, I am struggling to find anything to keep my interest. Watching all the college baseball regionals and super regionals has reminded me of my love for the ting of aluminum bats, the rowdiness of a baseball crowd, and BYOB student sections with free seating. I guess this is the first installment in LWS CBB coverage.

Ole Miss choked it away against the Little Havana Canes in the regionals, but there are still two SEC teams that will be playing in Omaha, LSU and UGA. LSU has been on a tear and UGA has been great as well. Both teams should fare well at the CWS. We have all seen what UGA and LSU have done this year in football’s post-season against non-SEC opponents, I expect more of the same from the fuckers from Athens and Baton Douche.

Mississippi State just hired a new baseball coach, and MSU legend Ron Polk. The guy is kinda a big deal, the fucking baseball field is named after him in Starkganistan. Well not for too much longer… Polk wants his name taken off the field, says he is going to personally remove all banners that have his name or number, and he is taking Mississippi State Athletics out of his will. The monetary blow is no joke either, not even taking into account how much Polk was planning on leaving to MSU, MSU has the smallest known athletic budget in the SEC. (Vandy is a private institution so they don’t have to disclose this information).

Polk is pissed at the world because MSU’s Athletic Director in waiting decided to hire UK’s baseball coach over one of Polk’s assistants. The hate is real too, not some bullshit. “Now he’s got me on the war path and all I can do is hurt him,” said Polk. Fuck yeah!!! HATE!!! HATE!!!! Horray Hate!!! A lot of Ole Miss people despise Ron Polk, I have always kind of liked the guy, now I know why. Hate, hurt, war path!!! Three of my favorite things! Hells yes!!!

In non-SEC news, everyone’s favorite non-SEC team was eliminated by Fresno State. Arizona State knocked out Ole Miss last year in the super regionals and went on to lay an egg in the CWS. They will be missed in Omaha.

I love watching ASU games, they’re always great. ASU is the only team in the PAC-10 that I pull for on a weekly basis, and you should all be doing the same. In case you are wondering what makes ASU so fucking amazing…
