Let me start by saying the days of the good ole boys that bleed orange or crimson are over. I know this may come as a shock to Andy Staples but “Bear” is gone to be with Jesus (doubtful). SEC football is all about winning now, Bama paying your Nick Saban twice what any other coach in America is making was the watershed moment. When the Tide sold her soul for victories (again and again) was there any doubt that UT would not keep pace? Thanks Alabama. You really need to leave the SEC.
Since there were no coaches of Saban’s or Meyer’s caliber in the market when UT needed a coach we had to be creative. Hire the 2 mil man with Papa the great defensive mind and steal all of the great recruiters in the SEC. Thus, help yourself and hurt your enemy in the same stroke. All for less than the others are paying.
In summary, like you Florida and Bama, we have sold our soul, we don’t care what Kiffin says or does just as long as he backs it up on the field by beating ass.
Mr Staples, I suppose the next thing out of your keyboard will be that Jon Crompton is not a SEC caliber QB??
