ScreenshotSheriff was first to notice:
“You conveniently left out the most important part.”
‘Conveniently’ is generous.
The man had trimmed that report like a used-car salesman cropping floodwater out of a Carfax photograph.
Now the G-Macolytes argued that first-team repetitions proved MacIntyre remained ahead.
The Brandon contingent argued the final sentence proved the competition was finished.
Both factions cited the same report.
Neither faction recognized the possibility that reading the entire fucking paragraph might help.
Then the board’s reporter, REDACTED, arrived carrying the kind of certainty usually reserved for a paternity test on daytime television:
“That’s absolutely not true. It’s Faizon’s job. Only a matter of time.”
This presented a minor complication.
Another reputable Tennessee reporter had said MacIntyre received first-team work and opened the scrimmage.
Now two premium sites appeared to be describing the same quarterback competition from opposite sides of a goddamn eclipse.
One said George went first.
The other said the job belonged to Faizon.
Subscribers paying for both had effectively purchased two smoke detectors—one screaming fire, the other insisting the house was merely preheating.
“It’s Faizon’s job. Only a matter of time.”
The thread reacted like somebody had read the will before the deceased quit breathing.
One hundred people liked the post.
Several more began performing emergency surgery on the phrase only a matter of time.
Did that mean Monday?
Tuesday?
After Furman?
During the second commercial break of Wheel of Fortune?
Maryville72 wanted a precise timeline:
“If it’s his job, why hasn’t Heupel announced it?”
Because Josh Heupel, rather selfishly, continues operating under the belief that his first obligation is coaching Tennessee Football instead of settling arguments between two grown men typing from separate Bass Pro parking lots.
DoubleSubscriptionDumbassDan reminded everyone:
“A lot of us subscribe to both sites and know what they said.”
Congratulations Dan.
The man is paying two separate companies to tell him different versions of something he cannot verify.
That isn’t insider access, this is theft.
That’s premium cable television for a custody dispute.
Meanwhile, JustTheMessenger23 insisted he had no agenda:
“Literally just said what the other site stated. No agenda whatsoever. Sorry to ruin y’all’s Saturdays.”
A man who claims he has no agenda while apologizing for ruining everybody’s Saturday has the innocent expression of a raccoon standing beside an overturned garbage can.
PorchLawyer delivered the verdict:
“OP is both an idiot and a liar.”
Concise. Efficient. Probably billable in three East Tennessee counties.
Another poster accused the original messenger of being a rival fan.
Someone blamed discounted subscriptions.
Someone else suggested the whole thing was manufactured to sell memberships.
At this rate, the next premium update will come with a corkboard, red string, and an introductory offer for couples counseling.
By evening, Tennessee had one quarterback who took the first snap, another who supposedly won the job, two websites interpreting the same scrimmage, and an entire fan base preparing to go to the mattresses over one sentence somebody conveniently left in the truck.
The starter remains unannounced.
The subscriptions remain active.
And somewhere in Knoxville, the vibe around town is charging $9.99 a month.
