This morning the board thought they had already connected all of the dots:

  • ESPN. GameDay. Peyton. Arch. POTUS.
  • A noon kickoff.
  • Presidential security dropped directly on top of 101,915 Tennessee fans.
  • Commie Protesters and longer screening lines.
  • Tennessee fans talking about surrendering, burning or selling their own damn tickets.
  • Texas fans waiting on the secondary market.
  • One explanation was buried in the thread: “By design.”

Now Sark has added a new dot.

He says presidential movement inside Neyland can temporarily cut coach-to-coach and coach-to-player communications. No warning. The system simply disappears and both staffs go to the backup plan.

The board reaction was basically a four-stage grief cycle.

SURRENDER — vol66:

“Damn talk about the potential to disrupt the game.”

RESIGNATION — LongVolLarry:

“Once fans are in, I don’t see us having a disadvantage with mics or communication. We control the noise.”

OPERATIONAL PLANNING — VFL83:

“Definitely when Texas is on offense and especially on 3rd down.”

DISMISSAL — Volumni2:

“Sark got the excuses ready.”

That is the whole board in four posts: disaster, acceptance, exploitation, contempt.

This morning: By design.

This afternoon: Sark explains exactly how the communications can disappear.

The dots continue to connect.

The fix is in.

DukeSilverVol eventually wandered in with the usual political sludge. By then the football conspiracy had already cleared the building.
