Houston Nutt has lost his mind. Acting more like Colonel Walter E. Kurtz from Apocalypse Now, Nutt allegedly uttered the following words: ” I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. The gloves are officially off between University of Arkansas head football coach Houston Nutt and the sports editor of the state’s largest newspaper.
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Sports Editor Wally Hall took his toughest stand yet on Nutt and the football program’s latest woes in his Friday “Like It Is” column, available here.
The column provoked a rare live phone call from Nutt to the KABZ-FM, 103.7, morning radio show, which Hall co-hosts.
Hog fans, Go ahead and give Houston a raise. Quit picking on him. Nick Saban makes about three times as much money as Houston and he has yet to coach his first game at Alabama. Of course Saban does have a national championship at LSU. Maybe Houston needs more money so that he can continue to coach the Razorbacks and bring them more SEC Championships. I’m sorry, he has not won any SEC Championships in 9 years. Well somebody please tell me whyHouston needs a raise.
