Ara Parseghian, who led Notre Dame to two national championships, and Lou Holtz, who guided the Irish to one, will be back on the sidelines coaching the Blue-Gold spring game April 21. With Holtz back on the sideline, what could possibly go wrong?

Holtz coached the Irish from 1986-96, guiding them to a record of 100-30-2. He coached more games than any other Notre Dame head coach and is second to Knute Rockne in total victories. He is now an ESPN college football analyst and a 100% Buffoon who makes us all miss Trev Alberts. Holtz’s unwitting douchebaggerdom even manages to make Mark May appear football saavy.

Holtz, a celebrated Notre Dame (and South Carolina) homer who always picked his former team to win every Saturday regardless of the opponent, will finally get it right. Notre Dame will finally win this one.

Immediately after Holtz’s departure, as with each school he has coached, Notre Dame will be placed on NCAA sanctions and probation. Good job Lou, you still have the midas touch.

    I expect three things to occur in association with this game:
    1) It will be overhyped by the media to try to make Notre Dame seem relevant with regard to the pursuit of a National Championship, ultimately landing them another charity spot in a BCS bowl game, which ND will again lose.
    2) Charlie Weis will have the field cut low to improve speed without the risk of losing to a faster team.
    3) Charlie Weis will sue somebody. Perhaps Mr Magoo Holtz for overshadowing Weis even though he is only 1/3 the mass of the new coach who has not won any big games.

    Notre Dame fans are not allowed to talk smack until they actually win a game that matters. To date, Weis’ signature win was almost beating USC.

    I am an ND fan. I agree that ND is overrated. But, its amazing what Weis has accomplished with what Willingham left. Ty was EASILY one of the worst coaches of all-time at ND(probably the worst). His last 2 years at ND, he only recruited one OL. That is moronic. He was fired, because he was incompetent(and a sh*t recruiter)–nothing to do with race. ND will be good again in 2-3 years. 2007 will be ugly, no doubt. Losing to USC is not embarassing, since they have only have 3 losses in the last 3 years. That last part hurts me to type. Win or lose, I hope they can compete with the SEC /USC teams of the world within the next couple years. Go Irish!!!!

    Lou Holtz is VERY insightful as a commentator and, yes, an unabashed homer. But I don’t want a former Vol or Trojan to act like they don’t care. So long as you know it out front you can discount it and move on. He isn’t homering by calling a game. He is like an editorialist for a newspaper vs. a news reporter. Moreover, he is entertaining.
