Louisville Zoo’s 21-year-old African elephant Mikki gave birth to her first calf Sunday at 8:45 p.m. It is the first elephant born in the Zoo’s 38-year history. Link

Juan who served as a midwife reported that the first words uttered by the elephant were “Fire Tubby”.
