Historically WVU Football sucks

After the USF loss it seemed like a lot of the chest pounding from WVU faithful died down, now all of a sudden it’s back. ‘We would beat Ohio St. by 25-30’ and other similar, ridiculous comments are being made now. WVU probably could beat Ohio State, so let’s talk about WVU beating LSU or…

After the USF loss it seemed like a lot of the chest pounding from WVU faithful died down, now all of a sudden it’s back. ‘We would beat Ohio St. by 25-30’ and other similar, ridiculous comments are being made now. WVU probably could beat Ohio State, so let’s talk about WVU beating LSU or Florida instead.  My question is why?? Why, as a West Virginia fan, would you feel entitled to make that type of statement? The point is this: WVU has always been a mediocre football program. .595 all time winning percentage (not impressive), no national titles (not impressive), one BCS game appearance (not impressive), no Heisman Trophy winners (not impressive), in 115 seasons of football the Eers have won 10+ games 6 times…the point is WVU should not be considered an elite program. If  you are google definition of average, WVU would be listed.

I know you’re coming off back to back 11 win seasons, and you have two special players in the backfield, but your program hasn’t afforded you to be able to toss around stupid comments about beating top 10 teams with ease, or by 20-30 points. You guys have never been to the top, don’t act like you’re already there.

    Jai, other than this article, who’s done all the spouting? Where’s all the lengthy rhetoric which dictates WVU is an elite program? From a media stand-point, WVU has been reputed to being one of the most improved programs, and certainly one of the hottest. As for Tarzan imitations, one sees that everywhere. Heck on another site, a Bama fan justified saying, “…AL was gonna kick LSU’s a$$…” because AL had just beaten TN 41-17. They’ve lost 2 games, and have arguably the weakest schedule of those in the SEC. But, because they put the hurt on TN, they think they have risen back to the top. Now, that’s chest pounding at its best.

    Now, I know just as well as you, that every fan base has its share of idiots, just as the media world has its share of idiots. Idiot fans say stupid things; idiot sports analysts are actually stupid enough to put it in writing. That doesn’t mean it’s true, only that some idiot said it or wrote it.

    As for your stats, like it or not, the all time winning percentage (I may have this wrong; it may be all time # of wins.) ranks WVU 18th, right below Syracuse, oddly enough. I’d say Top-20, while perhaps not elite, is certainly impressive. So, give credit where credit is due. Otherwise, you just sound like the rest of these idiots.

    wvu has never won any national titles and has an average winning percentage at 59.5%. alright… congratulations on having such an impressive winning percentage “powerhouse” SEC teams.. Florida – 62% and LSU -63%

    what do you want wvu to say:
    “we are good now but since we are not a “powerhouse” and weren’t good before we are just gonna stop trying and we will just start being average again and let all of the so called “powerhouse” teams… like Notre Dame… have a fluke year every once in a while and we will take our turn being good and then it’ll go back to the way it usually is… where we win 59.5%.. because that is never going to go up or down apparently and that is what we are” what does that statistic even prove? that the almighty SEC teams are awesome because there winning percentages are 3% higher than WVUs.. WOW… give WVU 10 years and we will be an amazing 62 or 63%…because that is what we want and that fucking matters in college football right now… right.

    Fuck that… this is present day… this is how wvu is NOW and is continually improving.. go ahead and talk about wvu’s shitty past.. congratulations on finding useless statistics that don’t mean a thing except that wvu sucked then and wvu is great now… thanks for letting me know how good my school is at football this year.

    wvu may not always be good like they have been this year and the past couple years.. but nobody is… if teams were always good all the time then Yale and Princeton.. “powerhouses” back in the 1890s and early 1900s in college football should still have that great football tradition and be good today… and college football would just be the same every year.. and that wouldn’t be fun to watch if everything was always the same…

    WVU hits 59% winning percentage playing in the BIG EAST. What a joke. The biggest bowl victory in school history was a 3 pt. win over a #8 team in a meaningless game. As soon as the “good teams” left the BIG EAST WVU started winning– big deal. A free ride to a BCS game every year. Don Nehlan only won the BIG EAST 1 time outright. Their nonconference schedule is a little better in ’08 but in the past has been nonexistent. Their best asset is they are a “trap” game.

    let me just say this, ESPN said “OK was best football team in the country handsdown and they would destroy WVU”.. well we all know what happened in Phoenix bitches.. Say what you want, but WV is full of good people, school pride and a damn good football program.. for a bunch of poor white trash we pack 60000+ into the stadium every home game and we love our team win or loose..thats what makes you a real fan….so for the haters, we will just have to keep listen to you stupid asses because in this great country its not a crime to be an idiot….though maybe it should be..

    The only thing that WVU knows how to do is run all of these little gimmick plays where they put 5 people in motion and then run Pat White. I would love to see them actually have to pass or run between the tackles with Noel Not-so-Devine. I wonder who Pat White will play wide receiver for in the NFL………b/c he certainly won’t play QB in a league where you actually have to throw the ball.

    Haha nice job dude, but how can u say WVU can beat Ohio State? WVU plays in the Big East a joke of a conference while Ohio State plays in the Big Ten a historically good conference that is tough every year. I dont know when this was written but The Big Ten has How many ranked teams? Well i could be wrong but last time i checked Ohio State was ranked in the top 10, MSU was in the top 10, Iowa was top 2o and Wisconsin is Ranked in the Top 20 too. How many teams are ranked in the Big East? Well WVU was ranked before the lost to Syracuse lol and they lost to LSU and should have lost to Marshall but they chocked in the 4th, so that shows how good they are and didnt OSU beat Marshall by like 40 some. And i cant think of any other teams that are ranked in the big east. In my opinion the Big Ten is the second best conference in college football behind the SEC they have been outstanding the past few years. Ohh and look at the comments all the ones dissing on WVU are ranked down. Wait y would WVU fans go to a page that says WVU sucks!? Ill tell u why because i had to go to high school there and it was terrible. WVU fans just like to argue and think there team is the shit because they win like 10 games a year in the Big east and then win there Bowl game witch is usually like the car care bowl against an overage opponent. And i got shit when OSU lost 3 nat champs and WVU won there bowl games and Won the NIT one of those years who gives a fuck were still the better team and i had to hear they would beat us just because of that. Well that just shows the intelligence level there lol…WVU fans just get the fuck off the page y would u look up WVU Sucks any way?
