This was emailed to me.  Take a look at UGA’s case for the right right to make tOSU Failboats 0-9 against the SEC in Bowl Games (HT RunDawgRun).

The Good News about GEORGIA is that the Bulldogs are simply one of the best teams in the country, for six straight wins now (no losses in regulation or overtime play in that time period).

The Good News about GEORGIA is that, according to the current BCS rules, it does NOT have to be its conference champion to make it to the BCS National Title game.

The Good News about GEORGIA is that it put itself in position to contend for the National Championship by strength of schedule and resulting record. As to strength of schedule, Georgia’s stacks up against anybody who is in contention for the BCS Title game. As for resulting record, Georgia has beaten Florida, Auburn and Tech all in one year, the first time that has been done since 1982 when they last played for a National Championship. Its only two losses were affected by scheduling factors where both opponents (South Carolina & Tennessee) had extra preparation time. One opponent in particular (Tennessee) manipulated its schedule in the offseason, dropping an opponent to gain a full bye-week advantage over Georgia this year. LSU did not have this disadvantage against Tennessee.

The Good News about GEORGIA is that, despite the fact it did not get a chance to play in and win its conference championship, it still shares an SEC East Division co-championship title for 2007. Georgia also did not lose on the last week or during a conference championship game, but, again, has won 6 games in a row in impressive fashion. And I have no doubt that Georgia would have beaten LSU.

IF fans and voters are bent by the word DESERVING today, and think they have to be swayed by the media favoring conference champions, that is one way of looking at it. However, if the word DESERVING is truly examined fully then GEORGIA is right up there. I would hope that the full body of work is taken into consideration rather than the whim of emotion. IF voters consistently vote, then GEORGIA will move into the National Title Game to face Ohio State, and this particular year in the BCS will have gone well.

    Georgia certainly has a strong claim. It’ll be interesting to see how it all falls out this evening. I agree that Georgia is deserving. It’s too bad they got their butts kicked by the mediocre Vol team that had to play a PERFECT game (zero penalties, zero turnovers) to hang on for three quarters against a battered and mistake-prone Tiger team. When they finally made a couple of errors, they lost. That mediocre team beat Georgia by THREE touchdowns. Not to mention 6-6 South Carolina.

    I would love to see UGA in the MNC title game, but sadly I don’t think it will happen. A sloppy, poorly coached, psychsophrenic LSU team will be in it, and they probably deserve it since they have the best players in the country.

    P.S. since I sound anti WfVU, I wanted nothing more than to see the Mountaineers destroy anOSU in the title game. But you had to lose to Pitt

    Let’s examine Georgia for a minute. They didn’t win their conference. In fact, they didn’t even make their conference championship game. They lost to South Carolina (South Carolina?) and were blown out by Tennessee. They beat Vandy by 3 points. They played two ranked teams, Tennessee (loss) and Florida (win)..

    tOSU will get what they deserve….again

    Uhh.. UGA beat more than just 2 ranked teams buddy..

    They lost early to SC, when they were ranked in the Top 10 too. Losing early in the season, helps more than if you lost late in the season.

    I don’t care which way it goes.. If they make it, they make it. If they don’t , then so be it.

    LSU played horrible against UT.. I mean, HORRIBLE. It was painful to watch..

    One thing that UGA has going for them is this.. They didn’t lose late, they have a great SOS, and most of the polls don’t punish a team for being idle..

    I mean, OSU jumps up that much, without having played in so long.. LSU barely beat a struggling UT, albeit a W, is a W..

    It’ll be interesting.. Too much drama this year.

    Say what you want.. UT had an up and downer this year. Pulled it off(which I said I was happy to see).. But they just tossed it away.. Do you need to go back and re-read Ainges stats for the firsts half? Do you need to see the TO’s in the 2nd?

    I mean, LSU practically had dudes in wheelchairs out there, running routes, and you guys still fell on your face. It’s just heartbreaking to watch that, and I’m not even a Vols fan.

    Georgia did not win the SEC Eastern Division and thus is not even the best team in its own division. Georgia does not belong in the BCS Championship game as a result

    Maybe they don’t.. I don’t think it’s logical, but it’s possible.

    While they didn’t win the east, on paper, and in the computer, they are co-champs.. Sure, your laughing, I agree that title is equally as homo as it sounds. However, why the fuck, would Georgia be ranked that high, if the voters, and the computers, thought it was an obvious given they wouldn’t play for shit?

    The computers have LSU’s side. However, alot of the blogs, and analysts write ups I’m reading aren’t siding with LSU. Who wants to see them get another chance at the top(after fluffin’ 2)?

    LSU are the SEC Champs. Congrats, sincerely, and wholeheartedly. You can’t take that away, or deny it.

    I really don’t know whats going to take place today. An idle OSU, jumping to #1 seems so silly to me, when many people argue that VA Tech, and OU, and even a 1 loss Kansas, should be in the running.

    Each team has their negatives. Kansas hasn’t play… anyone. OSU hasn’t eitheir, but they get blow jobs personally from ESPN, so they have their due. OU, isn’t terrible, but they also faultered, and don’t have the SOS, others in the top tier do.

    LSU has a great SOS, and sure you can argue, no loss in regulation.. But what kinda crack are you smoking, when you claim a win, is a win, is a win, regardless… OT, or regulation, it’s still the game, and a loss, is a fucking loss.. It’s not 1/2 a loss.

    I guess my only hope for this vote is this.. I don’t know, or at this point care, who goes.. If it’s glory for ol’ Georgia, then I’ll be dancin in the streets @ 8 tonight. If it’s not, so be it. It’s BCS bowl, against someone worthy enough to be there.

    If it’s LSU, congrats.. I’m just gonna have to drink heavily to accept the fact, that OSU might put a W up against and tattered and beat down LSU team..

    I couldn’t tell if LSU had a gansta walk going on, or if limping was the new fad..I’ve never seen that many slow to get up, and injury time outs in a while, between the two teams.

    ’07 UGA = ’06 LSU. ended the season as the hottest team in the country but, because of earlier losses, could not participate in the SECCG; thus could not participate in the NC game.

    Still, Sugar is sweet–we pounded the Fags of Notre Dame. Good luck if y’all go to the Sugar vs the Rainbow Warriors (a gay name if there was one)

    UT was hammering us, but we did deliver a few blows of our own.

    The computers do like us, for whatever reason. I am biased, but a four team playoff of tOSU, LSU, OU, and UGA would make the most (but not all) fans happy this year. Except for USC, but they can suck on it. Or maybe USC in tOSU’s place, and tOSU can then suck on it. Whatever.

    If you remember last year, we didn’t win the West, but a lot of people thought we were the best team in it. That may have been true, but the end result was a high BCS rank, but not 1 or 2. Similar to UGA’s situation. I’m with you, except that if it is somehow UGA, I won’t have to drink as heavily, I’m confident y’all can get the job done.
