In the Big East/SEC Invitational, the teams were stacked for an easy Big East victory.
The matchups:
Game 1: Georgetown vs. Alabama Georgetown should’ve steam rolled Alabama, but the Tide put up a good fight, but the consistent play of 8′ 3″ Center Roy Hibbert and his rebounding were too much for Richard Hendrix and the Tide especially without point guard Ronald Steele and his gimpy knees.
Game 2: Auburn vs. West Virginia This game wasn’t even close to fair. Auburn is really, really bad and got blown out 88-59. The saddest part of all is the Alabama student section staying after their game to jeer against Auburn. Alabama fans just have so much class.
Game 3: Providence vs. South Carolina A 3rd in a series of games that the Big East was favored to win, but the Cocks came to play and edged the Friars 68-67. The cocks did try to give away a 12-point lead. The Friars were playing well until back to back losses to University of Rhode Island and now falling to the Cocks. Dave Odom does more with less than any other basketball coach, but going 114-85 over 6 years just makes you an NIT coach.
Game 4: LSU vs. Villanova Continuing with the theme of the day, SEC teams with leads that want to give them away, LSU let go of a 21 point lead to let Nova win 68-67.

This was probably the only point in the game where John Brady (espn.com picture) wasn’t screaming his head off. The refs basically gave the game back to Villanova in the last 8 minutes of the game. The tigers did help though with turnovers, but there were some questionable calls and no calls, but I always like it when the John Brady and the Tigers lose. Their all corndoggin’ assholes.
“Any team that loses, doesn’t deserve to win,” Brady said. wtf?
In reality I just wish we coulda had Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee playing those games. We’d be starting off 4-0 in the BE/SEC Invitational, but I guess we’ll have to wait another year and see if we can get Depaul, Cincinatti, Rutgers, and South Florida all in one year.
