Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

This is awesome, imagine filling out Sweet 16 brackets for College Football just like basketball, December would be so much sweeter! [ESPN]

College football AND NFL playoffs….

During my first simulation Florida wins it all. Figures. Next Tennessee beats the Failboats in nearly every simulation and actually wins the National Championship in a couple of simulations.  Look at the bracket below.  Two SEC teams in the final game.  The perfect world,  all the other schools look so small from way up here in Big Boy Football!

Impossible? No. Look at the 1-AA Delaware Blue Hens, who beat the #4 and #1 seeds on the road to get to the finals against Appalachian State. The same Appalachian State who beat bad-ass Big 10 bully Michigan.

Let no one forget who the real villains are keeping us from a playoff, according to ESPN and SI, it’s the Big 10 and the Pac 10, they are the conferences who are fighting against a playoff.

That being said, I’m on simulation number 3000 now, and tOSU has yet to win the championship…

  1. I did this simulation about 50 times and 40% of the time there were two SEC teams in the championship. One time all 4 final 4 teams were from the SEC (Auburn, LSU, Florida, and Georgia).

  2. The SEC is clearly superior

  3. Won’t work because the schools, fans, supporters can;t afford to travel for all the games. Additionally, the greedy ass states and bowls of current sites for both bowl games and conference championships have probably bought the representatives off already. If you notice most of the bowl states is where the actual bowl reps live becasue they are retired or live high on the hog.
PLUS ONE WORKS FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE

  4. It’s got to be plus one or 16, you can’t do eight. You use the bowls as the playoff sites, no home playoff games. Both schools get less than half of the tickets anyway so it’s not like they rely on those people to attend, plus it’s about TV money anyway, not ticket money.
