(Maybe he just wants to play Big Boy Football)
Offensive lineman Justin Boren says he’s left the Michigan football team because the program’s “family values have eroded.” [ESPN] I wore the winged helmet with pride, whether we won or lost, whether things were going well or times were tough. Michigan football was a family, built on mutual respect and support for each other from Coach (Lloyd) Carr on down. We knew it took the entire family, a team effort, and we all worked together.
“I have great trouble accepting that those family values have eroded in just a few months. That same helmet, that I was raised on and proudly claimed for the last two years, now brings a completely different emotion to me, one that interferes with practicing and playing my best and mentally preparing for what is required. …
Family values eroding. Is Rich Rod is member of the KISS Army? Knights in Satan’s Service? Playing records backwards, watching and listening to Bo’s message? Rich Rod was rumored but yet to be confirmed was playing Enjoy Incubus backwards to hear this message: “Thursday Night we smoked indica, and Azwethinkweizm was born”
Sounds like the kid was getting the hell run out of him and he couldn’t take it. But, it also sounds like the new coaching staff might be a bunch of assholes pushing buttons too hard. I’m very fond of that style of motivation. Getting all Junction Boy’d…Bear style
Boren told reporters after Michigan’s first spring practice 10 days ago that adapting to new coach Rich Rodriguez’s no-huddle spread offense was physically challenging. He mentioned the difficulty the offensive linemen had constantly running to the line of scrimmage. Translation: I’m too fat and slow to be a lineman in a spread offense
