I know that Jai has a Big 10 versus the SEC post coming up soon. I thought that I would take a stab at the ACC, Country Roads. Oh, I am working on a Virginia Tech preview that is going to be both thoughtful and damning. I can’t wait!!!

If my EERS were in the ACC this year, could we go to the title game and win it? WVU, FUCK YES!!
You know, honestly… I think we could even if we still had Rich Rodriguez at the helm. Grudgingly I admit that his ingenuity would propel us through that conference like a fat chick through a milkshake. The spread option would be far too much for their simple defensive styles in the ACC (UF vs FSU is a good example). I mean, heck… Rich did it at Clemson and dominated for years. If he’d only been allowed to control the defense as well, Clemson could have become a national power.
Here’s the thing, though… While the removal of Miami, VT and BC may have created an easier route to the BE title. The Big East has held it’s own since the split. The Big East has done much better than all of the experts predicted (yes, thanks in no small part to RR & WVU) but Louisville won a BCS game as well against none other than the ACC Championship.
I believe that our current staff, at least on a resume, appears to be a better staff than was previously here. Now, with that being said, we will have to wait and see how they work together, how they react to adversity, how in-game adjustments are made etc. I believe that the current staff has done a good job to this point but only time will tell how successful WV will be under the new regime.
Honestly, does it really matter if WVU could win the ACC, which has, at least the last couple years, been the weakest of the BCS conferences (besides the Big 10), correct?
I’d give my left nut if we could have those three teams back in the Big East and actually earn a title. Country Roads Motherfuckers
