As many of you probably know, a Big 10 blogger (MGO Blow) dropped LWS from their blogroll for being “only vaguely a Tennessee blog and they have no actual analysis of the football, only short humor posts. They’re bumped because of the influx of quality UT options.” As imagined, I have a few problems with this action.
First, what “analysis” does a certain blog ran by a Gate in ATL provide? None I can find, but I don’t check that site too often. Why hasn’t that site been dropped from MGO’s blogroll? Well, the answer is simple. You don’t want to piss off you allies. You don’t see Iran and North Korea talking shit to each other do you? Of course not. Blog hit counts feed these dictators cult of personality, and there has already been enough fellating of that entire crew. So much, you could almost call it a Greek Scramble. Pure hypocrisy… dropping someone for “lack of analysis” but keeping a site that provides no analysis (or no humor, for that matter). [Banana Republic elections]

When I have provide analysis of past events to my bosses, they only pay token attention to it. Why? Because it is the past. It has already happened. You cannot change what happened. I am sure to some people the “analysis” of Meechigun’s O-line not being able to adjust their blocking schemes depending on what technique the opponent’s D-linemen play is great. But sometime past events can be analyzed and broken down into such simple aspects that the average person does not see “analysis,” but sees the obvious.
Anyone could provide line and bar graphs showing A-Rod’s increased salary and increased endorsements he got when he signed with the Yankees compared to the Rangers. Does that make it “analysis”? No, not when anyone who spends 30 minutes a week watching Baseball Tonight could tell you A-Rod is a whore for money. “A-Rod is a whore” does just as good of a job summing up why he signed with the Yankees as do all the charts and graphs showing the increase in cash. And “A-Rod is a whore” is straight to the point and provides more comic relief than a fucking pie chart.
MGO can talk about Michigan State’s DE’s set up in a 4 technique and that allowed the OG pulling from the other side to get a clean block on the SLB all day long in comparison to the Failboats DE’s lining up in a 6 technique on the TE allowing the the SLB to shoot thru the B-gap and blow up Hart in the backfield all fucking day long. That’s some fucking analysis… but the average Joe can tell you that the LB isn’t getting blocked and Hart is getting jack shit for yardage. That’s forward and to the point. Also it could be broken down as simple as “Michigan State sucks, Ohio State feasts on other Big 10 cupcakes.”
That’s why you lost. All answers are correct.
MGO does do a good job of “analyzing” past Meechigun games, but it does not provide accurate predictive analysis. That’s where you money is made as an analyst. Predictive. Telling someone what is going to happen in the future. This blog has given predictive analysis. Motherfucking dead on fucking target, bet the fucking farm on it, predictive analysis. Apparently MGO didn’t see it.
Predictive analysis encompasses a variety of techniques from statistics and data mining that analyze current and historical data to make predictions about future events. Such predictions rarely take the form of absolute statements, and are more likely to be expressed as values that correspond to the odds of a particular event or behavior taking place in the future.
Here is some of the statistical data I used for that predictive analysis. Ohio State’s last two losses were to teams with good speed (Gates and Fighting Zookers). LSU had good speed and time to heal from the brutal SEC schedule. I could break down the numbers, like in a A-Rod contract, but it is easier to understand just by stating that the data (wins and losses) indicate that Ohio State has a problem handling fast teams.
The Data-mining was done by the Big 10 homers at ESPN for me. 0-8 vs SEC teams in bowls. Ohio State knows their place. Moondog did a great job of a complete data-mine on Ohio State’s fails vs. SEC teams. After reading his piece, a logical one would conclude that Ohio State would have a problem playing a quality SEC opponent.
In MGO’s own words in its Ohio State game preview blog, “I’ve already provided plenty of predictions specific enough to look dumb later.” Yes you have, and yes you did. Your predictive analysis is worthless. Michigan may be able to handle 9 of the other 10 cupcakes in that conference. But that other cupcake currently owns your ass, and the SEC owns that cupcake. Stop living vicariously thru a Gate blogger.
In conclusion, you don’t need fucking charts, graphs, and X’s and O’s to provide “analysis.” Sometimes the simplicity of the situation just hits you in the face. My analysis of MGO’s decision to drop LWS is complete. Does that mean we can get back on the blogroll now?

Don’t cry like your Big 10 brethren
