Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

ESPN:  They have created the story, the myth, the caricature that is Lane Kiffin. If he fails, his failure may be rougher than any in recent memory. But if he wins – look out. ESPN is not selling him as awful.  They are selling him as a story, a wildcard, a maverick for you Palinites, even if in reality he is not. If he wins, they will reward  his success because he already is a story. If we beat UF (which I don’t think we will, just sayin) we will 100 percent be the lead story on espn.com, will be the first 5 mins of sportscenter, will be the leading topic on the talking head shows. That is a fact. If Kiff wins the SEC in a few years, it will be nonstop coverage. And if we sniff a NC, they will be all over it. It is a double edged sword, yes, but  winning will make you forget it, because Kiff and UT will be all they discuss. And that is a blessing, even if you are too red to see it
