An internet fight has broken out!!!!
An anonymous member of the media has submitted some information to us. As far as we know, these are the first quasi-facts regarding this issue. I see some fairly compelling information in the screen caps below. You be the judge.
UGA is cracking me up right now as they scramble to shut Marlon Brown up. Who wants to bet they don’t find this “impostor?” Did you actually expect them to come out and tell us how ignorant Marlon Brown was for saying that he “got so rich lol?” In all fairness, this is not only a reflection of UGA. Each team that recruited Marlon could be guilty, but UGA is the one stuck with the kid. The screen cap posted here on Wednesday is a completely legitimated screen cap. The only change that was made was the Microsoft Paint circle to draw attention to the comment. More info and Facebook screen caps after the jump.
First, “it wasn’t Marlon’s account”. Now, it is his account, “but Marlon didn’t post it”. You’ll see from the caps that Dasher from UGASports wants to say anyone who suggests this could be real is “dumber than a truckload of turnips”. I have dispatched two truckloads of turnips to Sanford Stadium.
Dasher, just because someone says something is not true does not mean that the rumor is squashed. UGA fans have said you are a good writer who does great research, but anyone who looks at your sharticles can see that is not true. Where are the facts? UGA is coming with denial, not facts.
(anon’s note: this info was not submitted to disrespect Marlon. UGA is lying through their teeth as far as most people can tell, and that is why this was submitted.)
So they were trying to contact Facebook, but they verified it wasn’t him already? Eh… OK
The following snippet comes after trying to confirm he’s still on for the show on January 29th, which was just before his visit to Knoxville that weekend. This is the first evidence of any kind that this is Brown’s facebook account. Notice that there is no profile picture for “Marlon Brown” as the account has since been deleted.
In the next one, you can see Brown sent over his cell (which was verified with phone calls) and mentioned having to do an interview that night, and what do you know, an article shows up in the commercial appeal the following day… Tressell also confirmed to come in on Thursday, January 29th.
Before the account was deleted, he had over 400 friends and had a mutual friend with me in Orson Charles. He commented back and forth with other players including Charles.
We probably wouldn’t have made as big of a deal about this had UGA not flipped out. It started as a simple screen cap and a satirical text conversation. UGA “writers” and fans have tried to discredit us without presenting any actual facts. We are playing our cards face up on this one. You be the judge.
