He splits his time between the Paint Rock River Valley in Alabama and Cloudcroft, New Mexico, at 9,800 feet, where the air is thin and mistakes tend to cost more. A mountain runner and endurance athlete, he is a two-time finisher of the Duke City Marathon. He is at work on a novel about a man who should have known better and didn’t care, and a future project exploring power, influence, and the economics of college football in the NIL era, including the enduring gravitational pull of Nick Saban.
