Tennessee and Alabama Agree to Wear Their Hatred in Color

Tennessee and Alabama will both wear their home jerseys when they meet during the next two seasons.

Alabama will wear crimson.

Tennessee will wear orange.

It would stupid if they wore each other’s jerseys, right?

Two historic programs will therefore arrive dressed as themselves instead of forcing one team to appear in white because college football once decided rivalries should resemble business-casual conferences.

The message board received the announcement with the emotional restraint of sailors watching the coastline after twenty years at sea.

Before anyone could enjoy the news, OrangeBritches scraped off the scab of the corporate patches:

“So Tennessee finally wears orange against Alabama, and they’re going to slap a damn advertisement on it? Wonderful. We waited 50 years to restore the rivalry so Weigels Hotdogs could sponsor the resurrection.”

BravesVol spoke up next:

“Love it.”

It was a simple statement, but simplicity could not survive long in a thread involving Tennessee, Alabama, uniforms and the possibility that Nick Saban had really denied everyone happiness.

Soon, grown men were becoming misty.
