MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez turned down Alabama on Friday, telling his players that he’ll be back for his sixth season with the Mountaineers.

Mal Moore issued the following statement:

My mission is to bring the  Bear to life. An American icon, the  Bear brings to mind warm thoughts about our childhood, about friendship, about trust and comfort, and also about love. Build-A-Bear Workshop embodies those thoughts in how we run our business everyday.

At the state capitol in Montgomery, the newly christened “alternate” state flag was lowered and  burned in protest of Rodriguez’s decision

    There is another prospect for the Alabama job, but the Montana forestry division is offering big money for him to stay put.
