Chris Leak Racks Up an 8 on the Wonderlic. Calgary or Bust Bitches

(Thanks for the Email on this Steve) Toby Korrodi says thanks to Chris “Hookslide” Leak. Korrodi would have scored this year’s lowest Wonderlic Score of 12 if Leak had not Eagled the test with an 8. Later reports have Leak running a 4.7 40, not a 4.5 as he had bragged on the Dan Patrick Show (link here), and a 32 inch gravity based vertical leap. Reading the  Football Message Boards makes me chuckle.  The Gators are spinning Leak’s  interview as a “joke” now.  Anyone else remember when Florida lost to Auburn?  The Gators were burning Leak in effigy.  Calgary is looking better each day.

Keep in mind that these scores are still rumors, but this is the first inkling that something is rotten in Denmark

Somewhere Thomas Hollywood Henderson is smiling, Leak is rumored to have misspelled Cat even after being spotted the C and the T (thanks Kyle, that is going to leave a mark). Granted Leak’s really low score was not as low as Vince Young’s , but Chris Leak is not Vince Young either. Vince Young doesn’t have to wear lifts to almost reach 6’0.

    Here is a comment from the site’s author Mac Mirabile:

    It is my understanding that this is from the campus agility tests, which I assume is the 2006 pro day on campus. The score was obtained from nfldraftscout.com. I believe the score is probably legit given Leak probably did not prepare for the Wonderlic since he had no real incentive to. I’m sure he will fare better at the combine. I am enclosing the section of his bio where I found the score. Note the 8/12 score means he answered 8 of 12 correctly. This shows much more room for improvement than an 8/30, which would lead one to believe he is simply guessing more or less at random.

    The 8 was from a past sample test used by a guy who was trying to prove that wonderlic scores do not equate to intelligence.

    He’s a very good student who graduated in 3 1/2 years. If you want to make fun of him for other things, be my guest, it’s your right.

    I did not report his score as from the 2007 combine, but simply from a past result of a testing. The source of that information was nfldraftscout.com. I understand your concerns about the possible damage a low score could do to Chris’ draft stock and as a precaution I will take down the score temporarily.

    I have done considerable research that demonstrates that the Wonderlic score has no effect on a player’s draft stock. NFL teams are simply more thorough in their evaluation of players and have the resources to interview players and clear up any red flags that a low score may present.

    Vince Young’s score last year did not hurt his stock despite the popular internet opinion that it would. And Vince Young’s rookie year performance, while not stellar, showed that good offenses can maximize the abilities of their qbs and hide their weaknesses.

    I know Chris is a good athlete and has a solid academic record at Florida. Given his academic success, I would not be surprised if he scores 25+ at the combine. When those results do get filtered down to me, I will only report the combine score.

He got the President’s award for the football team. How can you sit there and say that he’s retarded? And by the way, he helped disadvantaged kids back home in his hometown. He doesn’t always think about just himself. He may not be a genius, but then again, are you? Believe me, I can tell you’re a very sick and lonely man.
    To all of you who are out there calling Florida a bad college, try to graduate from it in 3 and a half years. It’s not like graduating from all those junior colleges most of you attended. Try to keep in mind that it takes long hours to complete a major. Tie that in with 6 or 7 road games a year and you get pretty beat. Oh, and to all of you people who think he doesn’t like girls, he most likely does. He doesn’t have to be all over us all the time to show that. He is one of the most respectable guys out there.

    camille – I’m Tee Martin, the best QB in Volunteers’ history.

    I led an above-average team to the NC in ’98, thanks to a timely Clint Stoerner fumble, 5 fumbles by Florida and an injury to Chris Weinke that forced Marcus Outzen to start for FSU in the NC game.

    I went on to CFL glory in Winnipeg. But at least I was drafted, damn it. That makes me better than Chris Leak.

    Unfortunately those racist fucks up in Knoxville named a street after Peyton Manning (who did jack shit at Tennessee, did he ever win a NC?) before me. Fucking inbred hicks.

    While throwing around words to adequately describe Chris Leake, don’t forget the phrase “National Champion.” Therefore, many of those other rubber arms (Brady Quinn included), should not have been taken ahead of Chris. It’s proven, Quinn couldn’t throw a tight spiral if his life depended on it, nor could he throw accurately down field.

    Anyways, never question Tee Martin. Tee Martin is a legend. Tee Martin was drafted (before Tom Brady), and ended up with great success in the CFL.

    As for Peyton Manning, he doesn’t have what I have. An NC ring. And I deserve an award for taking such a mediocre team to a national title in the first place. That’s way better than the Heisman trophy.

    I honestly think that Chris Leak is the answer to the QB problems in Chicago. As for the people on here claiming that Chris Leak is dumb? You gotta be freaking kidding me. Coming out of high school he was so highly touted mainly because of his grasp and efficiency running an intricate offense as a prep. All of this was in spite of him being 6’0″ at best.

    Do you honeslty think tha Urban Meyer would have had him running that offense if he was dumb?
