Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

The Sporting Orange Blog reports that the Gator Zone got hacked over the weekend [Link].  Gators are the reason we need condom strength tests, so they can’t reproduce.  Spay and neuter all Bull Gators. Also, it appears that Herban Meyer was “forced” to do something about a couple of his thugs [link].

Florida suspended offensive lineman Ronnie Wilson and Brandon James this weekend for their offseason shenanigans. Wilson is done for the season. James is out for one game, with other possible punishment on its way.

Wilson will be back next year, provided the NCAA doesn’t deal an SMU/Bama punishment to UF, and James…well one game? That is funny stuff, one game?  Wow, I am surprised he even was suspended at all.  Its just weed, right? James is sharting himself thinking of  facing the “leadership committtee”.  Top 1% of 1%, the Gator Tardation continues….

  2. You don’t want to set a precedent and then have to reverse it because you need a player. Lets say you decide to suspend James for 5 games for smoking pot.

What if Harvin or Tebow gets caught are you going to throw away the whole season for a first time offense when half the people on campus are doing the same thing…No. So first offense for a crime that doesn’t hurt anyone is going to be a slap on the wrist.

Excellent point becuase they’re there to win championships and not for an education and to better themselves. These guys are supposed to be better than everyone else on campus. The objective is to teach people that being average sucks and to be the best. But you’re right, in order to win championships at UF you have to throw out integrity, honor, and personal accountability.

“Shit, playa, what’s the point of not smokin’ a lil’ cheeba? If we git cawt, we only out 1 game, like Troy or Florida Atlantic or some shit. Spark it and get sum fire.”

  4. Gator Boards are alive and kicking. They just don’t seem to understand that the Law applies to Gator Football Players too

  5. Let’s also not forget that this will not be the ONLY punishment he endures for this offense. Meyer makes his players adhere to a VERY strict set of rules and stipulations after getting caught up in something like this.

No… I have no problem with his suspension. I DON’T condone the use of Marijuana and never have done it, but that doesn’t mean that I’m a drug Nazi. I don’t think you change the punishments for an offense just because a few more incidents are happening than you would like.
