Review of “Bama Profiles in Courage: Laykin”: (Capers) Barr flexes through an emotional range that most writers would never dare attempt … Humor and Bama sorrow are fused together like twined tree trunks that keep each other standing…..It’s part satire, part character study, with a wry lens on fame, fandom, and the modern South. Well done, Capers, well done.”– Ian Allen, The Times Literary Supplement.

Both the men and the women razorbacks start conference play tonight with the #20 undefeated Ladybacks hosting the #11 LSU tigers and the Men (11-3) going to Auburn, AL to face another group of tigers (9-3).  The hogs are finding both teams beset by injuries.  With Sylvia Fowles riding the bench for 2-4 weeks after arthroscopic knee surgery, the Ladybacks think it’s a good time to catch LSU.

The razorbacks on paper should dominate the Auburn Tigers, but winning road games especially of the SEC variety have been difficult for the hogs in the past few years.  The men benefit from several injuries on the Auburn squad including leading scorer Korvotney Barber and Center Boubacar Sylla.  The men are not taking this team lightly according to John Pelphrey.

Oh and I was correct about an Ole Miss loss against the Vols.  I’m gonna go ahead and guarantee nothing better than 8-8 in conference play for the rebels.

In more news, Darren McFadden placed in handcuffs, but not booked.  It remains to be seen if charges will be filed.  It’s always something with you isn’t it Darren?

  1. What exactly did you see last night in a 2-point loss to a top 10 team on the road that has you convinced that OM will finish 8-8?

If UT doesn’t shoot lights out from 3, the Rebels pull the upset. UT is a better team, no doubt, but to say that OM will finish .500 at best in the weak SEC this season is interesting.

  2. Ol bigfoot has no clue about basketball, he’s too busy dealing with all that crap going on in soooooie pig land.

  3. Yeah, Bigfoot, what about Beverley’s newfound fatherhood? Since he doesn’t have any big league assets (yet), what about making his baby’s mother an honorary cheerleader as part of a paternity suit settlement?

  4. Sorry I think we’ll leave the big ugly cheerleaders to Big 10 schools.

Interestingly I saw him at Buffalo Wild Wings awhile back and he had some other girl buying him alcoholic drinks…. Interestingly enough he was drinking a pina colada…

  5. Pina colada? Sounds a little metrosexual.

  6. Nice. If Ole Miss is an 8-8 team, UT is an 8-8 team.
